FO: Möbius!!

If you've been reading my blog at all, you may know that I recently knitted a Möbius. What's a Möbius, you ask? Awesome, I say. But that doesn't help much, so maybe Wikipedia can...

Now that one question is answered, I'm sure the next one you have is "How on earth do you knit one of those?!?" No need to fear! A woman named Cat Bordhi has the answer! I stumbled across this youtube video in January and immediately grabbed the first yarn I deemed worthy of such an exciting project and appropriate size needles tips and the longest cable I could find and cast on like there was no tomorrow. Two-hundred (which is really 400) stitches later, I started knitting in the weirdest round I had ever seen and after a few hours of clicking along, I saw it all coming together...

Now, if you've watched Cat Bordhi's video or knitted a Möbius of your own, this may make sense. If not, you should think about getting on that... ;)

Reasons knitting a Möbius excites me:
1) As I said in my WIP post about it, there aren't any seams! Sure you can knit a straight scarf and then do a half twist and sew the ends together, but I hate seaming, and there's no fun in that anyway... ;)
2) I'm a nerd so this just really excites me for some reason...
3) It's knitted from the inside out. What you cast on is actually the middle, and what you knit goes outward from there.
4) There's this weird thing that happens where on the top half (while you're holding the needles in your hand looking at it as if you were knitting) is right side up and the bottom half is wrong side up. So. Weird. But again, I love it!
5) It's just fun...

So... Basically I think everyone should knit a Möbius! But that's just me... I'll be posting a pattern soon if you want to make one like mine! :)

Update: the pattern is available for free here and on Ravelry
